Incheon Airport To Gimpo Airport

If you are transferring from an international flight to a domestic flight then you’ll have to change airports too. From Gimpo Airport you can catch a connecting flight to Jeju or Busan. Listed below is all you need to know to make your transfer easy and hassle free.

1. By Subway

There are two types of trains leaving from Incheon Airport to Gimpo Airport, namely the all stop train and the AREX non stop train. ONLY take the all stop train, the other one does not stop at Gimpo Airport and goes all the way till Seoul Station.

The all stop train leaves from Incheon Terminal 1 (level B1) and from Incheon Terminal 2 (level B1). After leaving customs, picking up luggage it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the subway. Once you arrive in the subway departure hall you will see on the left a blue entrance and on the right an orange entrance. Go to the left side, the blue side, as this is for the all stop train.

1.1 How To Buy Tickets

There are a couple of options when it comes to buying tickets. You can buy a single ticket or buy a transportation card. If you are using the subway more than once during your trip in Korea it is recommended to buy the transportation card as this will save you lots of time and also money.

Transportation cards can be bought online or at convenience stores or vending machines. Online is the cheapest and most convenient as it is already topped up. Cards ordered online can be picked up in the airport or can even be delivered to your home country. Check here for more info and prices.

The fare from Incheon Airport Terminal 1 to Gimpo is 3750 krw with a transportation card or 3850 krw when buying a single ticket.

A single tickets has to be purchased at one of the ticket issuing machines just next to the blue subway gate. Tickets can only be purchased with cash.

TIP: If you have a Discover Seoul Pass you don’t need to purchase a transportation card. The pass is also a T Money Card (except for the BTS edition).

1.2 Subway Frequency

The subway leaving from Incheon Airport Terminal 2 starts at 5:18 and the last trains leaves terminal 2 at 23:50. From terminal 2 to Gimpo airport it takes 46 minutes and it is 8 stops. From terminal 1 it takes 39 minutes and it is 7 stops. The train runs approximately every 10-15 minutes. From arrival at Gimpo station to the domestic terminal it is about a 10 minute walk.

2. By Bus

If you don’t want to take the subway, you can take the bus. This isn’t recommended as a bus can get stuck in traffic. There are a few different buses running but the cheapest ones are the 6003, 6008 and 6014. The bus fare for these costs 5000 krw. Another bus (more expensive) which you can take is the 6707A. To take the bus, head to terminal 1, level 1. The ticket offices are located at exit 4 and 9 in Arrival Hall Floor 1 (indoors) or at the offices next to Exit 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, and 9C (outdoors). In terminal 2 go to level B1, this is also where the ticket office is located.

Note: taking the subway instead of the bus is highly recommended.

3. By Taxi

Are you arriving late at night or early morning and is public transportation not running yet? Then taking the taxi is another option. The taxi takes around 30 minutes and costs about 40 000 krw (+ 20% night charge). Note that the toll gate charge will be included. At terminal 1 go to level one, exit 5C, 6C or 6D. In terminal 2 go to level 1, exit 5C, 4D, 3C or 3D.

Gimpo Airport To Incheon Airport

Going from Gimpo Airport to Incheon Airport is a relatively straightforward process, but it does require some planning and time management. The distance between the two airports is around 40 kilometers, and there are several transportation options available, including buses, taxis, and trains.

One of the most popular options for travelers is to take the AREX (Airport Railroad Express) train, which runs between Gimpo and Incheon airports.
