Seoul Itinerary 4 Days: Day One

Use the first day of the Seoul Itinerary 4 days to explore the historic center of Seoul. This is the original center of when Seoul was first established in the Joseon Dynasty almost 1000 years ago.

The must see places in down town Seoul are Gwanghwamun and Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon village, Insadong, Jongno and Myeongdong area. All these areas lie withing walking distance, there is no need to get around by taxi, bus or subway.

1. Visit Gyeongbokgung or Changdeokgung Palace

Even though there are five palaces in central Seoul, stick to visiting one of the two main ones. These palaces are extremely grand and a great example of Korean traditional architecture in Seoul. Gyeongbokgung Palace was the first constructed in Seoul and is known for having a special changing of the guard ceremony twice a day. Changdeokgung Palace is the second palace built in Seoul. It is famous for it’s secret Korean garden that can only be visited with a guide.

If you would be in Seoul longer, you could definitely visit one of the other 3 palaces. The names are Deoksugung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace and Gyeonghuigung Palace. For such a short time there are better things to do in Seoul in 4 days.

There is a small entrance fee for the palaces (3000 krw each). But it is free to enter which a Seoul pass or when wearing a Korean hanbok.

• ★ Changdeokgung Palace – The was the 2nd palace built in Seoul, as the first one was destroyed multiple times during fires and wars. It is only 500 meters away from the first palace, Gyeongbokgung. This palace is rather special as it is considered as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO since 1997. Open daily 9 AM – 5 PM, except Mondays.
• ★ Gyeongbokgung Palace – This stunning palace was constructed over 700 years ago and is the oldest and biggest palace in the city. The main gate is facing South towards the statue of King Sejeong, whom invented the Korean alphabet back in the days. Open daily 9 AM – 6 PM, except Tuesdays. Changing of the guard ceremony is at 11 AM and 1 PM. TIP! National Palace Museum and the ★ National Folk Museum(free) are located on the palace grounds.

2. A Temple, A Shrine And A Cathedral

Korea has quite an interesting story when it comes to religion and this can still be seen today. The main society in Korea is considered Confucian, which is not really a religion but more of a lifestyle. The Jongmyo Shrine is a result of the Confusion society. It was built during the Joseon Dynasty and was use to perform ceremonies by the Royal Family.

Then there are the other two main religions, Buddhism and Christianity. Both the religions are of a similar size and both had a hard time at some point during the Joseon Dynasty.

Buddhism has two different orders in Korea, the Jogye and Taego order with the Jogye order being the main one. The main temple of this order is Jogyesa Temple in central Seoul. This is a rather small temple but has a great atmosphere and changes decoration all year around. Other temples in Korea that belong to this temple are Bulguksa and Golgulsa Temple. The cool thing about Jogyesa is that it has a cool temple stay program and offers free craft activities at the other side of the street in the Buddhist information center.

The Myeongdong Cathedral is a roman catholic church in the center of Myeongdong. The stairs leading up to the church make the church even more impressive.

3. Where To Eat For Lunch And Dinner

The best areas to have dinner at in Seoul are Insadong and Myeongdong. These areas are filled with different kinds of restaurants, dessert cafes and street food vendors. All kinds of food can be found here from the best Korean dishes like Samgyetang, Gomtang and Kalguksu to lots of foreign food and halal restaurants. 2. Lotte Department Store Sky Garden

The Lotte Department Store is located just next to Jagalchi Fish market and is the second biggest department store in Busan. In the main hall of Lotte is the largest indoor musical water fountain which is even featured in the Guinness Book of Records. Apart from being a great shopping complex with lots of entertainment facilities, the roof top deck is what makes this building extra special.

3. Yongdusan Park & Busan Tower

Yongdusan is one of the three famous mountains in central Busan. From the top of the mountain the view is magnificent as it overlooks the sea. The view is extra special at night! At the top of the mountain stands Busan Tower, which is 120 meters high. The top of the tower is inspired by one of the Pagodas in Bulguksa Temple, Gyeongju.

The surrounding park is a hot spot for the citizens of Busan and tourists. Apart from Busan Tower there is the Statue of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, a flower clock, the Bell of Citizens and a statue bust of Baeksan An Hee-je.

4. Bosu-dong Book Street

The Book Alley in Busan was created just after the independence of Korea from the Japanese as people started selling books which the Japanese left behind. Professors and students during those times came to the alley to purchase books which helped the book street grow and get established to what it is today.

Nowadays, because the rise of the big chain book stores, the Bosu-dong Book Street shifted its focus to more niche books and opening coffee shops in some of the stores, this helps to make up for the loss in profit.

5. Gamcheon Culture Village

The Gamcheon Culture Village is a small village built on the foothill of a mountain facing the harbour and ocean. The Culture Village is nicknamed the ‘Machu Picchu of Busan’. Many of the buildings are painted in vibrant colours with lots of murals and sculptures placed all over the village.

Gamacheon is a residential area which is filled with coffee shops, galleries, snack vendors and souvenir shops. The best way to explore the village is by getting lost in the small side streets and alleys.

How to get to Gamcheon Culture Village

1. Go to Geojeong Station on Subway Line 1. At exit 6, take the bus Sakha 1 or Sakha 1-1 to the Gamcheon Elementary School Bus Stop.
2. Take the subway to Toseong Station on Subway Line 1. At exit 1, take the bus Saha 1-1, Seogu 2 or Seogu 2-2 to Gamcheon Elementary School Bus Stop.

6. Songdo Cable Car

The Songdo Cable Car which originally launched in 1964 and reopened in 2017 being four times the distance as when it closed back in 1988. The journey starts in Songnim Park, going all the way to Amnam Park at the Observatory. Some of the cable cars even have a glass floor, which is only for the dare devils to try.

7. Oryukdo Island & Oryukdo Skywalk

The Oryukdo Skywalk is located on the dividing point of the East and South Sea. The glass skywalk opened in 2013 and hangs over a 35 meter high coastal cliff. The skywalk reaches far over the cliff, so visitors can look down through the glass floor and enjoy the view of the waves. It is the perfect spot for impressive Instagram pictures.

Apart from the skywalk there is a 365 meter coastal promenade which gives visitors a complete view of Songdo Beach and the skywalk.

Oryukdo Island is located just of the coast of Busan and is created purely out of stones. The island is uninhabited and consists of a lighthouse and walking trails. Oryukdo is only accessible by ferry which leaves from the Mipo terminal at Haeundae Beach. The one hour long trip gives great views of Haeundae, Gwangalli and the Diamond Bridge.

What To Eat In Busan

Busan is the city of sea food, which can be found all over the city. It is also a city of local specialties and street food. 1. Gukje Market Street Food

2. Day 4: DMZ Day Trip

For a 5-day Seoul trip keep traveling around to a minimum, but consider going on a day trip to the DMZ. The DMZ is located one hour from Seoul and is the border which divides North Korea and South Korea. This is a zone filled with history related to the Korean war and the conflict between North and South Korea.

The most important area is the JSA (joint security area), which is only accessible with a group tour. These tours leave at 8 am from Seoul and get back around 6 pm. Others sites that are included on most tours are Imjingak Park, the Unification Bridge, the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, and Dorasan Station.

3. Day 5: Other Day Trip

On your last day go on another day trip from Seoul to Nami island, La Petite France and the Garden of the Morning Calm or in winter go skiing skiing in Vivaldi Park or attending the Ice Fishing Festival. Korea 5 Day Itinerary: Seoul And Busan Itinerary

Seoul and Busan are the two major cities in Korea. If you love cities and don’t mind travelling a bit to the completely other side of the country then this is the perfect itinerary for you. Both cities are amazing and vibrant but also completely different from each other.

The best way to get from Seoul to Busan is by KTX or express bus. The KTX is more expensive but is recommended as 5 days in Korea is quite short to spend 4 hours on a bus one way.

1. Day 1-2: Seoul

First, spend two days in Seoul and visit the highlights of the city including one of the palaces, Bukchon village, Insadong, Gwangjang Market and consider taking one day trip to the DMZ or Nami Island.

2. Day 3-4: Busan

On your third day make your way from Seoul to Busan. This is the 3rd biggest city in Korea and is well known for its beautiful ocean views and delicious sea food.

If you are coming to South Korea to enjoy the beautiful national parks then you’re in for a treat! 70% of Korea exists out of mountains, so it is no surprise that the most loved weekend activity is hiking.

1. Day 1-2: Seoul

Start of by spending two days discovering Seoul and on your third day head to one of the many national parks.

A bit further from Hamdeok Beach lies the Mangjaggul cave, the world largest known lava cave. It is around 5 meters wide, and 13 000 meters in length. Visitors can walk about 1 kilometer into the cave and come out at the same exit. It is regarded as UNESCO world heritage site since 2007.

The cave is a 20 minute walk away from the bus stop, if you are lucky, you can get a taxi. If limited on time when traveling by bus, consider skipping this site.

4. Haenyeo Museum

The Haenyeo Museum is dedicated to the female divers that go out early every day to collect shellfish, fish and seaweed. The divers are known to no use any diving equipment except for a pair of goggles, a diving suit, weights, an orange boye and a basket. This is extremely hard work and these woman started this job when being a teenager and will continue until their bodies can’t handle the hard work anymore.

Different exhibitions in the museum showcase the culture, their daily life and routines.

6. Seongsan Ilchulbong

7. Seopjikoji

2. Hyeopjae Beach

1. Mt Halla

On your last day in Jeju, get up early and make your way to the Halla Mountain, ready to hike. Hallasan is an active volcano, considered as UNESCO heritage. There are different trails to reach the top of the mountain, each different distances and difficulties.

2. Cheonjeyeon Waterfall

In the south of the island are 3 major waterfalls, Cheonjeyeon falls is the largest of the three and is names after the pond of heaven. Legend says that fairies used to bathe in this waterfall.

3. Jusangjeolli Cliff

Seoul Itinerary 7 Days: Day One 

Gwanghwamun, Bukchon Hanok village, Myeongdong, Insadong and Jongno are the main central areas in Seoul where most of the touristic sites are located. These are all within walking distance of each other, no need to take public transport or taxi.

This first day is vital to the Seoul 7 days itinerary.

1. Visit One Of The Palaces

There are five major palaces located in central Seoul, all within close proximity of each other. The two main palaces that are most worth visiting are Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace. The first one has changing of the guard ceremonies twice a day. The second one has a special Korean garden.

The other three palaces are Deoksugung (which is especially beautiful during autumn in Seoul), Changgyeonggung Palace and Gyeonghuigung Palace. The latter two are free to enter and are far less touristic than the others.

• ★ Gyeongbokgung Palace – The first palace built in Seoul during the Joseon Dynasty. It is over 700 years old and is the biggest of all the palaces. The main entrance of the palace is located at the end of Gwanghwamun, facing the golden statue of the most important king, King Sejeong. He is very well know as he was the king that created Hangul, the Korean alphabet. Open daily 9 AM – 6 PM, except Tuesdays. Changing of the guard ceremony is at 11 AM and 1 PM.
  
  TIP! National Palace Museum and the ★ National Folk Museum(free) are located on the palace grounds.
• ★ Changdeokgung Palace – After the main palace was destroyed during fire, this 2nd palace was constructed. It is located 500 meters to the right of Gyeongbokgung. It is as beautiful and generally less busy. In 1997 the palace was considered as  World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Open daily 9 AM – 5 PM, except Mondays.

2. Seoul’s Main Temple, Jogyesa

There are two different Buddhist orders in Korea, with as main one the Jogye order. Jogyesa is the leading temple of the temple. Other temples that belong to this order are Bulguksa and Golgulsa Temple. The temple ground are quite small as it is a temple located in the city center, but it is very beautiful. Especially as they keep changing the decoration, depending on the season.

Across from the temple is the Buddhist information center, in here you can join free craft experiences or have a traditional Buddhist vegetarian meal. 

Another popular activities at temples across Korea are the temple stays. A unique experience to learn and experience life in a temple. 3. Lunch And Dinner

When in the central area, the best areas to have lunch are Insadong and Myeongdong. These area are filled with restaurants serving all kinds of food, including Korean food. 4. Shopping In Insadong And Myeongdong

The Insadong and Myeongdong area are famous for shopping, food and coffee shops. Insadong is more focused towards souvenir shops, art, craft shops, galleries and restaurants. The area houses over 100 different kind of galleries, the most famous ones are Hakgojae Gallery and Gana Art Gallery. In the local stores you can buy any kind of Korean goods, including Korean hangji paper, traditional tea and supplies and hanboks. One of the best tea houses in this area is Tteuran Teahouse.

Whereas Myeongdong (close to Seoul station) is more focused towards department stores, street food, restaurants, cosmetic shops and coffee shops. The area is a popular evening destination due to the night food market. The Grevin Wax museum is a go to spot for K-Pop lovers! Many wax figures of Korean stars are displayed in the museum.

5. Confusian Shrine And Street Food Market

On the right of the Insadong area, lies the Jongno area which is one of Seoul’s oldest districts. Here you’ll find the Jongmyo shrine, Gwangjang Market and the up-and-coming area Ikseondong.

• Ikseon-dong – This is one of the oldest areas of Seoul and was recently turned into a restaurant and shopping district. The old buildings remain and give the area a hipster touch!
• ★ Gwangjang Market – Gwangjang is the oldest food and textile market in Seoul. It has over 2000 shops and sells lots of traditional Korean street food. The best way to enjoy the market is by taking a food tour.
• Jongmyo Shrine – Korea is a very confusion country, this can still be seen in society today. This shrine was built during the Joseon Dynasty and was used by the kings and their family to worship ancestors.

6. The Bukchon Traditional Hanok Village 

Bukchon Village literally translates to the village of the North and lies in the middle of Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palace. This area was inhabited by the upper class, related to the royal court. These were some of the wealthiest people of the city and country. Other sites in the area that are worth visiting:

• National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art – This museum is located just next to Gyeongbokgung palace and has constant changing exhibitions from local and international artists.
• Unhyeong Palace – This free to enter palace was home to the last Joseon King when growing up. King Gojong lived here until 18 years old before moving to Gyeongbokgung palace. It is a very simple palace as it isn’t decorated like the other, this makes it rather unique and definitely worth a visit.
• Samcheong-dong – Smacheong-dong is well known for being a stunning area during autumn in Seoul as the streets are filled with trees that turn golden during this season. This area is filled with cute boutique, small guesthouse, art galleries or coffee shops.

7. Optional: Medical Tourism

Seoul is known to have great medical facilities! You’ll find a wide selection of clinics offering affordable skincare treatments, such as dark circle treatment and acne scar treatment, or Korean medical health checkups and more invasive procedures, including plastic surgery (for example: hair transplants, liposuction, rhinoplasty, and LASIK eye correction).

1. All Season Trips

There are all sorts of day trips available from Seoul, which are great doesn’t matter the season. The most popular ones are a trip to the DMZ, Everland or Nami Island.

DMZ And JSA

2. DDP: The Dongdaemun Design Plaza

The Dongdaemun is a rather interesting area as it combines old traditional clothing markets with modern architecture and huge department stores. The DDP building is the pride of the area, designed by the British/Iranian architect Zaha Hadid. It is beautiful from the outside and hosts temporary exhibitions and events.

• ★ Dongdaemun Traditional Clothing Market – This market houses over 30 000 different vendors all selling their unique product. The area dates back to the early 1900’s when it was a textile market. The market stays open from early in the morning till late at night in Seoul.
• Dongmyo Vintage Clothes Market –  If you are looking for something different in Seoul then this market is the place to go. It is the biggest vintage and second hand market in Seoul and sells all kinds of things, but mainly clothes for as low as 1000 krw.
• L’atelier Museum – Go back in time with famous painters and experience their famous paintings in form of musical shows, interactive figures and light shows.

Listed below are 2 different itineraries. The first one, for first timers in Seoul. The second one for returning visitors, looking to get the most out of the Discovery pass.

1. Fast Paced, First Timers 1 Day Itinerary

Below is the ultimate 1 day itinerary Seoul, perfect for first timers in this mega city! With the Discover Seoul pass, entrance to all the attractions (including tourist sightseeing bus) are free. Note: this itinerary is quite fast paced. If you want to take is slow, pick and choose the places you want to visit best.

1.1 Morning Itinerary

• 9:00am: Make your way to Gyeongbokgung Palace in central Seoul. Visit the palace and Gwanghwamun square.
• 10:30am: From Gyeongbokgung Palace walk towards Insadong shopping street. Do some souvenir shopping and try traditional Korean tea in one of the many tea houses. Optionally, visit the Alive Museum or Running Man Experience.
• 11:30am: From Insadong walk towards Myeongdong, enjoy cosmetic shopping, try have lunch in the area. Check what to eat in Myeongdong here.

Seoul Day 1: Historic Center Of Seoul

The historic center of Seoul is where all the touristic hot spots are, including the palaces, Bukcheon Village, Samcheongdong, Insadong, Yogyesa Temple, Jogno and 2 major traditional markets. This can normally be done in one day, without too much hurrying.

This day one itinerary is a must do when in Seoul, even if you’re only staying one, two or three days. If you don’t know where to go in Seoul, then just follow the list below.

1. Visit One Of the Five Palaces In Seoul

Seoul has 5 major palaces dating back to the old Joseon Dynasty, visiting at least one of these is a must when in South Korea! Even though there are 5 different palaces, the two major ones are Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palace. These two are located 500 meters from each other so if you wish you can even visit both.

• ★ Gyeongbokgung Palace – This is Seoul’s first Palace which was build more than 700 years ago. Start off the day by walking across Gwanghwamun Square and pass the huge golden statue of King Sejeong (He was the most important King during the Joseon Dynasty as he invented the Korean alphabet) towards the main gate of the palace. Open daily 9 AM – 6 PM, except Tuesdays. Changing of the guard ceremony is at 11 AM and 1PM.
  TIP! There are two museums on the Palace grounds, the National Palace Museum and the ★ National Folk Museum (free).
• ★ Changdeokgung Palace – This palace was used and built after Gyeongbokgung burned down. Since 1997 it has been recognized as World Cultural Heritabe by UNESCO. Changdeokgung Palace is generally less busy than Gyeongbokgung and it is worth visiting for its ‘Secret Garden’. There are only limited tickets every day to the Secret Garden and can only be accessed with a guide. Open daily 9 AM – 5 PM, except Mondays.
• Deoksugung Palace – This is a smaller palace across from Cheonggyecheon Stream, and is famous for its beautiful stone wall, especially stunning in autumn in Seoul. The palace has traditional Korean buildings like the other palaces and modern western buildings as the last King who used to live there was a fan of the west. Open daily 9 AM – 9 PM, except Mondays. Changing of the guard ceremony starts at 11 AM, 2 PM and 3:30 PM.
• Changgyeonggung Palace –  This less popular palace was mainly used as residential quarters for the queens and concubines. During the Japanese colonial occupation is used to be a park with a zoo and botanical garden. Open daily 09 AM – 6PM, except Mondays.
• Gyeonghuigung Palace – Gyeonghuigung is located behind Deoksu Palace and used to be the secondary palace for the King. This was mainly used in times of emergencies. If you are looking for a relaxing and calm palace to visit, then this is the place to be. Open daily 9 AM – 6 PM, except Mondays.

2. Bukchon Hanok Village And Samcheongdong

Between Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palace lies Bukchon Hanok Village and the Samcheong-dong area. This is home to over hundreds traditional Korean houses or hanok which are dating back to the Joseon Dynasty. These places are great if you are looking to take some great pictures.

• ★ Bukcheon Village – This is a residential area in Seoul which belonged to the nobles working for the royal court back in the Joseon Dynasty. Bukcheon lies on a hill, so there will be some uphill climbing involved.

• National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art – The Modern Art Museum is located across from the National Folk Museum and has temporary exhibitions in the spacious exhibition halls.
• Samcheong-dong – This area just besides Gyeongbokgung Palace is a very unique place in Seoul. This is the perfect area if you are looking for cute coffee shops, boutiques, food stalls and art galleries. Especially in autumn the main street is filled with beautiful golden leave trees.
• Unhyeong Palace – The palace is located right next to Anguk palace and was more of a residential palace back in the days. It’s free to enter and the palace is worth visiting as the decoration of the buildings are completely different than the other 5 big palaces.

3. Traditional Korean Lunch

There’s an abundance of options for having lunch in the historic center of Seoul. From quick kimbab or bibimbap to elaborate traditional dining.

• ★ Tosokchon Samgyetang – The best Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) place is located just next to Gyeongbokgung Palace and is the perfect place to visit for lunch or dinner.
• Tongin Market Lunch Box – Going to Tonging Market is an experience you must have. At the traditional market visitors can exchange money for a lunch box and coins, with those coins you can then buy certain dishes from vendors all around the market. 5000 krw should be enough for a small lunch.
• Insadong Restaurants – The Insadong area is filled with restaurants serving all kinds of traditional Korean food. Try walking around the smaller side streets, that’s where you’ll find the best restaurants.

4. Jogyesa Buddhist Temple

Jogyesa Temple is the leading temple of the Jogye order in Seoul. It was built in the 14th century during the Goryeo period. The temple itself is rather small but is stunning, especially the main prayer hall. Across the street of the temple is the Temple Information Center which offers free Buddhist craft experiences for anyone who wants to join.

5. Souvenir Shopping In Insadong

The Insa-dong area is filled with souvenir shops, coffee shops, art galleries and restaurants. There are over 100 galleries in the area, displaying all kinds of traditional Korean fine art. The most famous galleries are Hakgojae Gallery and Gana Art Gallery.

The stores in Insa-dong focus on selling traditional Korean goods like hanboks, Korean traditional tea, hangji (Korean traditional paper), pottery, are supplies and other crafts.

• Ssamzigil – This 4 floor building on the main street of Insadong is filled with over 70 small peculiar shops, selling anything from clothes to hand-crafted soaps, porcelain, traditional crafts and snacks. On the top floor of the building you can find the Poop Café, which is getting increasingly more popular among Koreans and tourists.
• Tteuran Teahouse – Insadong is the place to be if you’re looking to have a traditional Korean tea in a hanok house. Tteuran Teahouse featured in the Korean-Japanese film ‘Coffé Seoul’.

TIP! The Alive Museum, The Kimchi Museum, and the Beautiful Tea Museum are three smaller museums located in Insadong.

6. Jongno Main Street

From Insadong start walking towards Gwangjang Market, Seoul’s oldest covered market. On you way you’ll pass by the up-and-coming area Ikseondong and the Jongmyo Shrine.

• Ikseon-dong – Even though Ikseon-dong is one of the oldest areas in Seoul, it recently started to be popular among the younger generation. In the area, lots of unique cafes, restaurants, boutiques and craft shops have opened in the the last year.
• Jongmyo Shrine – This shrine dating back to the Joseon Dynasty used to be a place to worship for kings and members of the royal family. It is known as being the oldest ceremony carried out in the world. The shrine can only be visited with a guide, which is available once an hour.
• ★ Gwangjang Market – The oldest covered market in Seoul is the place to be to try some yummy Korean snacks and street food. Things the market is famous for is live octopus, mung bean pancake, Korean blood sausage and noodles. TIP! Visit the market with on a food tour, as you’ll be able to try lots of different local dishes and get background information on the dishes and the vendors.

Seoul Day 2: DMZ + JSA Tour

If you have 5 days in Seoul then going to the DMZ is a must! The DMZ area is located around 60 kilometers up north of Seoul and can only be accessed by booking a guided bus tour. No two tours are the same, so choose the tour based on you budget, sights included and reviews. Below is a list of the most important sights.

• ★ Joint Security Area – The JSA is the closest point you can get to North Korea. At the JSA you’ll have a chance to set foot in North Korea and take pictures of the North Korean soldiers guarding the border. The area can only be accessed accompanied by the American Army. This can only be visited on the full day DMZ tour, which is a must take tour!
• ★ Dora Observatory – At the observatory you can look into North Korea. On the observation deck are Binaculars (free) which can be used to see the villages and if you’re lucky, some people walking around.
• Other sights which might be included in your tour (depends on the company): Dorasan Station, the Unification Village, Infiltration Tunnels and the Unification Bridge.

1. DDP: The Dongdaemun Design Plaza

The DDP is a stunning piece of architecture, designed by the oh-so famous architect Zaha Hadid. It is an iconic building in the shopping district of Seoul and probably one of the most instagrammable places of the capital.

The street food is not as good as in other areas like Namdaemun or Gwangjang market and it is a bit overpriced, but the Myeongdong street food night market is a good experience to have.
• Grevin Wax Museum – The wax museum in Myeongdong is a must go, especially for K-Pop lovers as many Korean stars are displayed in the museum, waiting to have a selfie taken with you.

4. Day 5-6: Gyeongju

Make your way from Busan to Gyeongju on the morning of day 5. This is an easy one hour bus or train ride.

Arriving in Seoul and don’t want to travel long distances? Then focus on visiting the north of the country when 7 days in Korea.

1. Day 1-2: Seoul

2. Day 3: DMZ And JSA

The Demilitarized Zone and Joint Security Area are intriguing sites to visit in South Korea. It is the closest you can get to North Korea from the South. On the tour, you will even be able to go into North Korea for 5 minutes!

3. Day 4: Nami Island Or Other Day Trip

Nami Island in Gapyeong is a very popular day trip from Seoul among foreign travelers. It is located one hour by bus from Seoul and has lots of tourist attractions to offer. 4. Day 5-6: Sokcho And Seoraksan

Make your way to Sokcho and enjoy the fresh ocean breeze. Sokcho is most famous for its national park, Seoraksan. Hike or take the cable cart to the top and enjoy the beautiful scenery the mountain range has to offer. Other must go places are the beach, the fish market and the teddy bear farm.

In the evening of day 6 make your way back to Seoul and spend the night.
