Pros & Cons

Jeju Island, located off the southern coast of South Korea, is known for its stunning natural beauty and unique geological features. One such feature is the volcanic clay found on the island, which is highly prized for its health and cosmetic benefits. The clay is formed from the volcanic ash and lava that erupted from the island’s numerous volcanoes millions of years ago. The clay is rich in minerals such as silica, magnesium, and calcium, and is said to have detoxifying and exfoliating properties, making it a popular ingredient in skincare products. • Absorb sebum and impurities
  • Provides tons of minerals to the skin which brighten and clarify the skin tone. It also creates a smooth skin texture.
  • It treats blemishes.

The most important ingredient of the clay mask is the volcanic ash or the Jeju volcanic cluster. This is a remarkable ingredient which This is a remarkable natural ingredient that forms when lava from a volcano eruption solidifies on Jeju Island. It is excellent for absorbing sebum and dirt. The texture of the mask is quite soft and feels a bit like a mousse. It is very easy to spread and dries in just a couple of minutes.

5. Personal Review

I kinda like this product, especially because of the texture of the clay mouse. It is really easy to spread and it doesn’t feel uncomfortable on the skin. I could see instant results as my pores really opened up but then I had to remove the black heads manually. The Innisfree clay mask doesn’t irritate or dry out my skin. After using the mask my skin also feels much softer.

It’s a bit messy to apply or remove but I feel like that with every kind of sheet mask or wash-off mask. Make sure you have a mirror and towel ready when applying the mask.

I’m not a big fan of the packaging. The box is just made out of simple brown cardboard which is a bit boring. The ink used to print on the box is soy ink and that is kinda cool. The container is made of thin plastic. It looks quite small but you only use a tiny bit each time you apply the mask.

How To Use Innisfree Clay Mask?

Before using this product wash your face with water or a toner. Use your fingers or a spatula to apply the product on your face. Spread it out gently and avoid using the product in your eyes or on your lips (trust me, you don’t want to have it your mouth, tastes like mud). After 15 minutes wash your face and rinse off the mask with warmish water.

Other Volcanic Innisfree Skin Care Products

The Innisfree Jeju volcanic pore clay mask is not the only Innisfree product which contains volcanic ash.

There are several Korean alternatives to the popular Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. One option is the Missha Super Aqua Detoxifying Peeling Mask, which also uses natural ingredients like volcanic ash and kaolin clay to purify pores and remove impurities.

Another option is the Skinfood Egg White Pore Mask, which contains egg whites to tighten and firm the skin while also removing excess oil and dirt.

The Tony Moly Egg Pore Tightening Cooling Pack is another popular choice, featuring egg white and camellia extract to soothe and refresh the skin while also controlling sebum production. These masks are all effective at deep-cleansing pores and improving the overall appearance and health of the skin.

If none of these products are improving your pores, then consider doing a Korean pore treatment like Rejuran or Thermage.
