Benefits Of Using Honey On Your Skin
There are a lot of benefits in using honey on your skin, especially against acne and ageing.
Honey has been used for centuries as a natural ingredient in skincare products due to its numerous benefits for the skin. Honey contains antioxidants that help to protect the skin from environmental damage, as well as antibacterial properties that can help to prevent and treat acne.
It also contains enzymes that help to exfoliate and brighten the skin, promoting a healthy and glowing complexion. Honey is also a natural humectant, meaning it helps to keep the skin hydrated by drawing moisture from the air and locking it into the skin.
This makes it an excellent ingredient for those with dry or dehydrated skin. Additionally, honey has anti-inflammatory properties that can help to soothe and calm irritated or inflamed skin. It is a gentle and natural ingredient that can be used on all skin types, including sensitive skin. Overall, incorporating honey into your skincare routine can provide numerous benefits for the health and appearance of your skin.
- Moisturising: Honey is extremely moisturising and soothes the skin.
- Acne: Using honey on the skin is great against acne as honey is naturally antibacterial.
- Anti-Ageing: Honey is full of antioxidants which helps slow down ageing.
- Pores: Honey helps open up pores which makes it easier to unclog.

2. Ingredients
The honey mask is made with 38.7% honey from Jirisan Mountain in Korea. Additionally it is cruelty free and is ethanol-free, silicon-free, steroid-free, artificial colouring-free and artificial fragrance-free. Apart from the honey, the mask is made with many other oils like the snail secretion filtrate or propolis. It even has bee venom in it which should have a botox-like effect in smoothing out fine lines.
Other Ingredients
Honey (38.7%), caprylic/capric triglyceride, peg-7 glyceryl cocoate, disteardimonium hectorite, macadamia internifolia seed oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, pentylene glycol, microcrystalline wax, polysorbate 20, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, beeswax, tocopheryl acetate, argania spinosa kernel extract, corylus avellana (hazel) seed oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, snail secretion filtrate, water, bambusa vulgaris water, nelumbo nucifera flower water, aloe barbadensis leaf water, propolis extract, beta-glucan, bee venom, citrus paradisi (grapefruit) fruit extract, sophora angustifolia root extract, eugenia caryophyllus (clove) flower extract, eucalyptus globulus leaf extract, punica granatum fruit extract, bambusa vulgaris extract, butylene glycol, glycerin.

5. Personal Review
The first time I tried the I’m From masks was a K Beauty Collective event and I was immediately sold. The skin on my cheeks can get really dry sometimes and this is where I apply the honey masks. It feels really pleasant to use on my skin and you can instantly tell that it contains a lot of moisturising oils.
It can get a bit messy when applying so make sure you have a mirror and a silicone brush. Also keep a towel within arm’s reach. Getting the mask off requires some effort as the mask is quite oily.
Personally I think the results of the mask are great. I have been using it for the past weeks together with other skin care products and didn’t have any irritation/outbreak and my skin has been brighter than even.
This I’m From Honey Mask can be used by anyone with dry, sensitive or even combination skin.

- Start by cleansing your face

How is this mask cruelty free if it contains snail secretion filtrate and bee venom?
Bee venom is extracted by tricking the bees to think there is an intruder by placing a frame at the entrance of the hive, through which an electric current is passed, administering small electric shocks to the bees, stressing them into stinging a pane of glass and releasing their venom.
Google the numerous methods of extracting snail slime; most of them are not cruelty free, and even those claimed to be cruelty free seem rather questionable.
That’s a very good point you are making and I honestly haven’t though about how they extract the bee venom from bees. I definitely need to do some more research on this and maybe even change my article. Thank you for sharing this!
