Modern Art Exhibition at the Arario Museum
The Arario Museum is a modern art museum was designed by the famous Korean architect Kim Swoo-geun. This building was used as Kim’s office and home until he passed away in 1986. After that the building was turned into this unique museum, established by Chang-il Kim, the chairman of the Arario Corporation. The different rooms in the building are filled with incredible works of 37 different artists.
The permanent exhibition is called “in Space” as the building is categorized by space, based on having one space-section per artist, this maximizes the aesthetic effects of the old building’s structure. The building has many small rooms and staircase shafts which feels like a maze that plays with the different art works.
The exhibition takes the viewer around a wonderful adventure seeing works by Keith Herring, Geraldine Javier, Barbara Kruger, Dongwook Lee and many more.
The museum is equipped with a bakery, coffee shop, restaurant and museum shop. Open Tue-Fri 10-6pm. Entrance fee is 10 000kw per adult. Docent led tours are only available on weekdays at 2 and 4pm.
